Only the rapier is unique as being exclusively a thrusting sword as its swing is both less accurate and weaker. The accuracy/power tradeoff is not always aligned, so the Sword of Kinnur is more efficient thrusting, and the Galon Griefmaker is more efficient swinging, even though you still get some benefit from the "wrong" move. In general, thrusting with a sword is accurate, while swinging trades accuracy for power.
